Paul Dykman, b. 1953

Paul Dykman, an artist with a vast subject range from having worked and lived on two continents. He portrays wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, and figures in his work. Paul was raised in a family of professional artists. He was encouraged to draw and paint from an early age in keeping with the Dykman family tradition. He was instructed in art techniques from his father, Ralph Dykman and the grandfather, Henry Dykman, both recognized as leading still life painters in South Africa. Paul also credits outstanding instruction from workshops and art centers in South Africa.

Paul sold his first painting at a joint exhibition with his father at the Royal Agriculture Show in Pietermaritzburgs, Africa at the age of thirteen. This was the first of many joint exhibitions at which he sold paintings regularly. Paul later went on to be represented by numerous galleries in South Africa. In 1995 Paul and his family moved to the U.S.A., to further his artistic exposure.
